Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
The objective of the goal is to promote sustained economic growth and decent work opportunities for all. In order to create better opportunities, measures have been taken, however, the results are mixed. While unemployment rates have declined, major crises like COVID have caused significant setbacks. Many workers still have informal employment with no legal or social protection. Youth and women historically face greater barriers when entering the labour market or advancing in their careers. Log Gross National Income (GNI) per capita compares economic output across countries, showing differences in overall economic and labour market conditions.
