Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
This goal aims to achieve sustainability while controlling production and consumption practices by reducing toxic waste and reducing resource use. Although consumption and production are crucial for economic development they also generate a significant amount of waste putting a strain on the environment. The amount of CO₂ and PM2.5 emissions provide insight into environmental pressures associated with production and consumption patterns leading to serious health and climate issues across regions. Difference in emission levels highlight how waste management practices vary globally contributing to broader sustainability challenges. Additionally, the access to the internet reflects ongoing changes in consumer behaviour, showing the shift towards more digital forms of production and consumption which can influence resource use and economic activity trends.
