Goal 3: Good health and well-being
The main objectives of the goal are to reduce infant and maternal mortality, prevent major disease epidemics, expand access to healthcare and vaccinations and improve public health systems as a whole. Although there has been significant improvement in global health, major inequalities still exist across different demographics. Under-five mortality rates have decreased recently, but remain high in sub-Saharan Africa. Additional indicators, including youth Vaccination rates and Global Health Index show that healthcare access and quality are continuously improving globally, but they also reveal areas where progress is still slow.
