Save Food Initiative
Save Food is an initiative founded by Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, interpack and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). It brings together industry, research, policymakers and civil society to reduce food loss worldwide and advance sustainable solutions across the entire value chain. The initiative aims to drive innovation, promote interdisciplinary dialogue and spark debates to generate solutions across the entire value chain, “from field to fork”. This initiative has developed a technical platform to measure and reduce food loss and waste. Altogether, this should allow a major reduction in agriculture emissions, as global food waste and loss account for 3.3Gt of CO2 equivalent per year.
