Intelligent Climate & Eco-Civilization Initiative
On December 3rd,2023, at the COP28 China Side Event held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, ‘the Intelligent Climate & Eco-Civilization Initiative’, co-initiated by the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Lvdoya. The Intelligent Climate & Eco-Civilization Initiative aims to foster greater climate action, climate action transparency, collaboration, and cross-cutting between entities in Asia.
This initiative aims to mobilize partners to take action toward carbon neutrality, promote in-depth interactions and collaboration between Chinese enterprises and the international community and share information across multiple parties and integrating experiences and knowledge of urban governance.
The initiative’s goals include: a) promoting greater climate action disclosure and transparency from local and regional governments in China, including supporting these entities to disclose climate action information to the GCAP portal; b) increase participation of representatives of sub-national government (mainly focusing on China) at annual COP events; c) facilitate dialogue between international organizations (including the UNFCCC) and Chinese sub-national governments, including through roundtables, events and forums.
