Intelligent Climate & Eco-Civilization Initiative

Intelligent Climate & Eco-Civilization Initiative (ICEC) was launched in 2023 at the COP28 China Side Event held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The initiative was co-initiated by the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Lvdoya. ICEC aims to foster greater climate action, climate action transparency, collaboration, and cross-cutting between entities in Asia. This initiative aims to mobilize partners to take action toward carbon neutrality, promote in-depth interactions and collaboration between Chinese enterprises and the international community and share information across multiple parties and integrating experiences and knowledge of urban governance. The initiative’s goals include: 1) promoting greater climate action disclosure and transparency from local and regional governments in China, including supporting these entities to disclose climate action information to the GCAP portal; 2) increase participation of representatives of sub-national government (mainly focusing on China) at annual COP events; 3) facilitate dialogue between international organizations (including the UNFCCC) and Chinese sub-national governments, including through roundtables, events and forums.
