Forest of the world

Forests of the World is a Danish green development organization founded in 1983 by a group of biology students under the name "The Rainforest Group Nepenthes." In 2011, it became known as Forests of the World. The organization focuses on preserving and developing biodiverse forests globally. It has headquarters in Denmark (Aarhus and Copenhagen) with regional offices in East Africa (Ethiopia), South America (Bolivia), and Central America (Honduras). Forests of the World works closely with Indigenous Peoples and local communities to protect forests, promote sustainable development, and address global crises like climate change, inequality, and biodiversity loss. The organization relies on contributions from members, donors, foundations, businesses, and public funds. Since 2022, it has been a Strategic Partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Denmark. Key initiatives include practical conservation efforts in tropical forests, knowledge development through research projects aimed at enhancing forest management practices globally.
