Global Waste to Zero

Introducing Waste to Zero: The Global Initiative for Waste Decarbonization. With waste generation projected to increase by 50% by 2050, the need to address waste management environmental impact is paramount. Emissions from the sector are estimated to contribute to at least 3% of world GHG emissions, and contribute to ecosystem degradation, resource scarcity and public health risks. Launched in the context of the Year of Sustainability, Waste to Zero aims to formalize waste management practices and engage stakeholders worldwide to decarbonize the sector, unlock economic opportunities, and contribute to global climate change mitigation efforts.
