Global Alliance for Water and Climate’s Incubation Platform (GAWCIP)

The Paris Pact was launched on the opening day of the climate summit COP21. It was the starting point of a global momentum for the identification of solutions for climate adaptation and mitigation. Thus, a Global Alliances for Water and Climate (GAWC) was established at the COP22, within which a Global Alliance for Water and Climate’s Incubation Platform (GAWCIP) has been set up gathering international private, institutional and financial partners, with the support of French ministries of ecology and foreign affairs. This platform is based on key investments/projects dealing with enabling knowledge and soft infrastructures.

As part of this initiative, the 100 Water and Climate Projects for Africa initiative is a large-scale effort aimed at addressing the challenges related to water and climate change across the African continent. The main goal is to identify, fund, and support one hundred innovative projects that contribute to sustainable water management and climate change mitigation and adaptation. These projects cover various areas, such as access to clean drinking water, protection of water resources, climate resilience, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices. The initiative seeks to mobilize financial and technical resources, as well as strengthen collaboration between governments, international organizations, and local communities to tackle these critical challenges in Africa.
